The health gap for women is 75 million years of life lost due to illness or premature death per year. This equates to 7 days per woman per year of additional health burden.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Women live longer than men. This statement is well known in society. On average, women live 82.4 years and men 77.2 years. The reason for this lies in the riskier lifestyle of men &#8211; driving fast, being overweight and not attending preventive check-ups. [1] <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But women live 25% of their lives in poor health. The health gap for women is 75 million years of life lost due to illness or early death per year. This equates to 7 days per woman per year of additional health burden. [2]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-neve-link-hover-color-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2\">#Solution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Practising gender-specific medicine as the norm in healthcare can close the care gap and help up to 3.9 billion women and 600 million men. This offers the opportunity for women to escape poverty and provide for themselves and their families independently.
