1. Introduction

EQUAL CARE Innovations UG is committed to promoting gender equality in all aspects of our organizational culture, research activities, and innovation practices. As an organization dedicated to improving health outcomes through inclusive, evidence-based solutions, we recognize the importance of gender balance and the integration of the gender dimension into research, innovation, and policy. This Gender Equality Plan (GEP) sets out our strategic commitment and the measures we will take to advance gender equality.


2. Minimum Process-Related Requirements

2.1 Publication
This GEP is a formal document, publicly available on our company website and signed by the company’s leadership. It will be reviewed and updated regularly.

2.2 Dedicated Resources
We commit dedicated staff time and gender expertise to the implementation and monitoring of this plan. Responsibilities are allocated within the management and project coordination teams.

2.3 Data Collection and Monitoring
We collect and analyze sex/gender-disaggregated data on personnel, partners, and collaborators. Key indicators are reviewed annually to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.

2.4 Training and Awareness
We provide regular training on gender equality and unconscious bias for all staff, including leadership. Awareness activities are part of our internal onboarding and professional development programs.


3. Content-Wise Priority Areas

3.1 Work-Life Balance and Organisational Culture
We promote a supportive, inclusive work environment through flexible work arrangements, respect for family responsibilities, and policies that encourage work-life balance.

3.2 Gender Balance in Leadership and Decision-Making
We strive for balanced gender representation across management, advisory, and decision-making roles. We apply transparent criteria for leadership appointments and board representation.

3.3 Gender Equality in Recruitment and Career Progression
Our recruitment and career development processes are designed to be fair, transparent, and merit-based. We regularly review hiring and promotion data to detect and correct any gender disparities.

3.4 Gender Dimension in Research and Innovation Content
Our projects systematically integrate sex, gender, and intersectional factors into research design, data analysis, and technology development. This is a core principle of our AI-based certification and decision-support solutions.

3.5 Prevention of Gender-Based Violence, Including Sexual Harassment
We uphold a zero-tolerance policy for gender-based violence. Clear reporting mechanisms and response protocols are in place to ensure a safe and respectful working environment.


4. Implementation and Governance

The GEP is overseen by the company’s leadership and reviewed annually in consultation with staff and relevant stakeholders. Updates to the plan will reflect feedback, new insights, and evolving best practices. We will publish annual progress reports outlining key metrics, actions taken, and next steps.
